Adult Club
Ottawa’s RA Chess Club is one of the oldest, largest and most active in Canada and its Championship is the oldest continuous event of its kind in Canada. Every Thursday evening year-round, the Club meets for competitive tournament play. The Club also hosts simultaneous exhibitions and lectures by some of the world’s best players as well as many weekend regional tournaments attracting top players from outside the region. On Sundays from September to May, the Club is open for recreational play and occasional team matches against other clubs. Check the Club's website for details. .

Junior Club
Juniors ages 14 and up are welcome to participate year-round on Thursday evenings for tournament play. Those wishing to participate in tournament play must be knowledgeable chess players as determined by the Club vice chair who may also waive the age requirement for exceptionally talented youngsters.

Pick-Up Tournaments
Thursday evenings through the summer, the Club will host informal, CFC-rated pick-up tournaments for players of any ability. Players must present themselves to the Tournament Director before 7:15pm to be paired against an opponent of comparable strength.
