The health and safety of our members, staff, volunteers and guests continues to be our top priority.

The Ontario Government announced that starting September 22, 2021,they require patrons of indoor Sport and Recreational Fitness Facilities to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination status to gain access (read the complete regulations here). We must obey all legislated efforts designed to keep our members, staff, volunteers, guests and community safe and our doors open.
As of Wednesday, September 22, 2021, it is mandatory for all members and visitors, 12 years and older, to provide valid proof of vaccination (2 doses, plus 14 days) and identity (with date of birth) in order to access the RA Centre. This requirement is necessary upon each visit. This process must be done on site, and in person. We cannot accept your proof of vaccination via email. As further clarification and guidance is released or once the enhanced vaccination certificate program is rolled out by the Province we will evolve our process.
What you need to know –

  1. Entrance: Everyone will enter the RA Centre through the WEST WING entrance (located closest to Bronson Ave).  The East Wing and Central entrances will not be open.
  2. Be prepared: Have your proof of vaccination and ID ready. Although we will do our best to get through this verification process quickly, allow extra time and come dressed for the elements in case you are required to wait. Please remember to physically distance and wear your mask while in line.
  3. Proof of vaccination: Official vaccination passports are not available in Ontario until October 22, until then, you can access your proof of vaccinations by visiting the Ontario Health COVID-19 webpage at Ontario Health. You must either download and print vaccination receipts (for both doses), or store them on a smartphone device to present as proof of vaccination. Read the Province of Ontario's Using your Vaccination Receipt FAQs.

  4. Proof of identity includes any documentation issued by an institution or public body, provided it includes the name of the holder and date of birth (photo ID not required).
  5. Accommodations: The RA will comply with human rights obligations and accommodate individuals who are legally entitled to an exemption from this vaccine requirement policy accordingly. For information regarding the policy and any exemptions, please review the Ontario Guidance to Support Proof of Vaccination Policy by visiting the Ministry of Health Proof of vaccination guidance.

As you can appreciate with such diverse user groups all under one roof, this verification process is not straightforward. We understand that this may appear simple when you compare the RA to other single activity businesses, but please understand that this new mandate impacts every part of our business on Riverside Drive. We appreciate that the process outlined above may seem cumbersome and inconvenient, but staffing numerous access points is untenable at this time and in the absence of an integrated provincial vaccine confirmation system we needed to start here.

These are challenging times and while we respect some may hold different views on these government regulations, harassment towards our staff, volunteers, members or guests serves no one, and will not be tolerated.

We thank you for doing your part to keep the RA safe and open.

We are truly Stronger Together.
