ARCHERY LESSONS

 

Try Archery - *NEW*

Looking to experience Archery but not sure if you want to commit to a registered program or Club? Or maybe looking for a different date night activity? New this fall, the Archery Club will be offering monthly single “Try Archery” sessions! These session's are one - hour in length and designed to give you a taste of Archery. No equipment is required for these sessions which are run by our onsite Professional, Bruce Malmberg. Come try something new!

Level 1 - Learn to Shoot (Ages 10 yrs+)

The six-week Level 1 program emphasizes safety and covers the fundamentals of recurve target archery. Archers are taught the 10 steps of the archery shot: stance, nocking, bow hand, string hand, pre-draw, anchor, aim, release, follow-through and relax. Archers will have a good working knowledge of archery and will be prepared for further development in the sport. All classes are 50 minutes in length and equipment is included. Please note children and youth who fall between the ages of 10yrs - 12yrs must have a parent present within the range during each lesson.

Level 2 – Beginner Archery
The Level 2 program is a more in-depth continuation of the Level 1 instruction and is recommended for those archers who wish to continue at the Club level and/or have an interest in competition. This program will continue to develop archery technique with emphasis on form. Highlights include an examination of personal form, equipment selection and types of competition.  All classes are 50 minutes in length.

Compound Bow - Beginner
This 6 week course is for archers who have recently purchased a compound bow and would like to learn more about shooting it. We will cover bow sight adjustment, bow tuning, bow and string maintenance, shooting form, stabilization, arrow selection and so much more. Own equipment is required for this course.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lesson's are open to all Archers regardless of skill level. Each session is 50 minutes in length with the first 15min dedicated to discussions on setting goals and performance expectations. Juniors ages 10 -12yrs are welcome to take lessons but are required to have a parent present during each session. Private lesson's are performed by our Archery Professional, Bruce Malmerg and can be purchased as Private or Semi-Private sessions. Semi-Private fee's include the cost of two individuals.
