It’s time to get back to Badminton!
The health and well-being of our members is our top priority. Over the last month the RABC Executive have worked closely with RA Management to develop a Return-to-Play protocol to ensure that all relevant provincial/local government and health authority recommendations are being followed.

UPDATE - Friday, November 6, 2020
We are happy to announce that with Ottawa moving into the Orange/RESTRICT level in the Province of Ontario's new Framework, sports can be played once again with restrictions. We are able to resume our regular badminton club programming, including doubles, on Saturday, November 7, 2020 ensuring that our players avoid physical contact and the capacity of 50 people in the badminton facility is respected.

2020-2021 MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS & FEES

Choose from the following five (5) new membership categories.

Social Morning Badminton  |  Competitive Morning Badminton  |  Playmaker Badminton  |  Intermediate/Advanced Badminton

SOCIAL MORNING BADMINTON MEMBERSHIP

Great program for all levels of players with good exercise and fun competition.

Tuesday and Thursday  |  9:00am to 12:00 noon
September 1, 2020 to June 27, 2021

  • Open to persons 18 years or older
  • Maximum of 48 participants
  • Plastic shuttles are generally used (players supply their own shuttles)
  • Games are played within an easy-going atmosphere
  • Players rotate after each game or every 20 minutes depending on the number of participants that day
  • No singles play, drills or pre-arranged games unless the Pro authorizes it

FEE:   $225 / RA Member

NOTE:  If less than 24 members, some courts may be used for court rental.

 

COMPETITIVE MORNING BADMINTON MEMBERSHIP

Great program for intermediate and advanced players wanting a solid workout and challenging matches.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday  |  9:00am to 12:00pm
September 1, 2020 to June 27, 2021

  • Open to persons 18 years or older
  • Maximum of 48 participants
  • Feather shuttles are primarily used (players supply their own shuttles)
  • Matches are competitive in nature with players interested in improving their skills
  • Players rotate after each game or every 20 minutes depending on the number of participants that day
    No singles play, drills or pre-arranged games unless the Pro authorizes it

FEE:  $350 / RA Member 

NOTE:  If less than 24 members, some courts may be used for court rental.

 

 

PLAYMAKER BADMINTON MEMBERSHIP

Great program for players joining by themselves or with friends.  Sit back and relax and let Club Pro Mike Bitten organize fun matches for you.

Tuesday and Thursday nights  |  8:00pm to 11:00pm
September 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021

  • Open to persons 18 years or older
  • Maximum of 48 participants
  • Feather shuttles used only (players must supply their own shuttles)
  • The “playmaker” (normally badminton Pro Mike Bitten) sets games at the right competitive level for each player
  • Matches are 20 minutes in duration, after which new games are organized
  • The intent of the program is to promote interaction between social and intermediate players during evening hours
  • Doubles games are played at all times under the direction of Mike Bitten or his designate
  • Everyone enjoys equal time on the courts

FEE:  $350 / RA member

NOTE:  If less than 24 members, some courts may be used for court rental.

 

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED BADMINTON MEMBERSHIP

Great program for competitive tournament players interested in very challenging games.

Monday and Wednesday nights  |  8:00pm to 11:00pm
September 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021

  • Open to players 18 years or older
  • Maximum of 48 participants
  • Feather shuttles used only (players must supply their own shuttles)
  • This time period is geared towards the experienced advanced player looking for very competitive games
  • Games are 20 minutes in duration, after which new games are set up
  • Doubles games are played at all times with all members mixing
  • No pre-arranged games, drills or singles play

FEE:  $350 / RA Member

NOTE:  If less than 24 members, some courts may be used for court rental.

 

As part of this redesign, we hope to be in a position to introduce an afternoon membership in the future.
