Born and raised in Ottawa, just ten minutes from the RA Centre, Joseph began playing in the RA’s junior badminton program at the age of 14. Having played both competitive hockey and volleyball, his athletic ability quickly transitioned into badminton where he won the Junior National Championships at age 17. He has represented Ontario and Canada on both the National and International stage. His other achievements include winning the Canada Winter Games in 2011, Team Gold, as well as a bronze medal in Men’s Singles at the Pan Am Championships in 2009. Joseph consistently reaches semi-finals or finals in national competitions, and for the past three seasons has remained first or second in Canadian Men's Singles ranking.

In addition to his coaching certification, Joseph brings with him “worlds” of experience, using training philosophies and techniques that he has learned from his time training in both Malaysia and Indonesia and from competing on the international stage. Being exposed to such high level badminton has elevated his game, and he is looking forward to sharing his experience, techniques, and passion for the game with you.

A familiar face around the RA Centre, Joseph coaches junior high performance players, as well as junior and adult recreational players. He continues to give back to the badminton community that supported and encouraged him over the years. Joseph brings an easy-going and fun approach to the game, all the time maintaining a high level of  professionalism.
