League Options - Evening Section

The RACC offers several curling options, and this year we have added another new one! The U30 (under 30) league, Saturdays at 5 pm. See details below.

There have also been a few changes: the Doubles league, back for its second year, moves to Wednesday nights at 9 pm and the After Hours league to Thursday at 9 pm. Contact each league convener if you need more details.”

Wednesday Night Doubles League

Mixed Doubles curling will be a new event at the 2018 Winter Olympics.   Want to know what all the buzz is about?   Give it a try this fall by joining the RA’s Doubles League.  The league will be an open format, though mixed teams are encouraged.  The league will run all season on Wednesdays at 9 pm.  Contact the convener  to enter your team and get more details.  Hurry to sign up – max of 12 teams will be accepted!

Friday Recreation Fixed League

Friday - 7:00 pm & 9:00 pm (6 sheets)

Want to play with a fixed team all season, but in a more relaxed and less competitive environment?  Still fairly new to curling but want to start and work with your own team?   The Friday Evening Recreational league is just for you.    Teams must be a mixture of men and women, but can be three of one gender and one of the other, or two and two (need not alternate positions).   The games will be at 7 pm & 9 pm every week.  Contact the League Convener  for more details and to sign up your team.

Open Draw Leagues

Monday & Wednesday  -  7:00pm

These leagues offer new curlers a friendly environment to develop their technique while the experienced curlers sharpen their skills.  Members sign up individually and are placed on a team by the convener for a six-week draw. Every six weeks, a new sign-up sheet is posted and the process starts again. Members indicate their preferred position (lead, second, third, skip).  Please note: The convener, in association with the RA Curling Club (RACC) executive and the league coordinator, reserves the right to determine a player's rating and place them in a position they feel they are best suited.
Monday convener: John Elder

Wednesday convener:  Robert Moreau

Open Fixed League

Tuesday - 7:00pm  & 9:00pm
The Open Fixed League format is by team entry, but don't let that scare you - if you don't have a team, we'll help you find one.  Teams can be all men, all women, or any combination of men and women.   (Note: 2 sheets of overflow are available at 5:00 pm Tuesday)

Convener:  Paul Armstrong

After-hours League

Thursday - 9:00pm
The After-hours League operates in an open fixed league format. This league is specifically designed for those who are night owls by nature; games get underway at 9:00pm.

Convener: Greg Kresko

Women's Fixed League

Thursday - 7:00pm

The Women's Fixed League welcomes new and returning members for good curling, competition and camaraderie.    All skill levels are welcome.  The format is generally a  team entry, but if you are not part of a team, we will try to help you find one.

Conveners:  Diane Burgess and Margo Burgess

Individuals interested in joining a fixed league who are not already part of a team, can also contact Nancy Kirkwood to be put on the “single curler” list. This list is made available to the league convener.
