The Rideau Sports Centre has purchased the Historic Rideau Tennis Club from the RA

(Ottawa, ON) The RA has reached an agreement to sell the Rideau Tennis Club's operation and assets to the Rideau Sports Centre. The Rideau Tennis Club, a year-round club situated on the picturesque banks of the Rideau River, has been serving members since 1912. Recently the City of Ottawa completed the Adàwe Crossing connecting the neighbourhoods of Sandy Hill and Overbrook.
Located five minutes from downtown Ottawa at the intersection of North River Road and Donald Street, the Rideau Tennis Club offers 19 outdoor tennis courts during the summer season, 11 of which are lit clay courts. In the winter, the eight hard courts are active under two air domes. Members and the public can access food and beverage services from the Breakpoint Bistro, located on the first floor of the clubhouse and a range of programming for children and adults. The historic Rideau Tennis Club offers the perfect combination of social atmosphere and tennis experiences.
"The RA is proud to have taken over the Rideau Tennis Club in 2004 when its future was uncertain and to have shepherded this storied club through its centennial and beyond. The Rideau Tennis Club has a rich history of tennis, social connections and community. The RA is honoured to have assisted the Club during this period of their history."
Tosha Rhodenizer, Chief Executive Officer, RA
"As Founder and CEO of the Ottawa Sport & Social Club (OSSC), I am thrilled to be creating the Rideau Sports Centre, a new organization which will not only respect the Rideau Tennis Club's storied past, but incorporate new sports in a revitalized and breathtaking river-front facility. I look forward to working with the community and local business partners to make this the most stunning sport facility in the nation's capital, with a wellness centre, innovative and varied programming appealing to all ages and demographics, and a new restaurant and patios that will be open to the public".
