Sports 200 — A Celebration of Sport in the Nation’s Capital In partnership with the City of Ottawa, and House of Sport member Ottawa Sport Council (OSC), the RA was proud to take part in ‘Sports 200: Two Days. Everyone Plays.’ — a celebration of Ottawa’s 200th birthday alongside National Health and Fitness Day and the ParticipACTION Community Challenge. On the weekend of June 6-7, local sports and recreation organizations welcomed 1,200+ registered participants for 30+ free sports events across the city, delivering an educational and entertaining experience for everyone involved. The RA opened its doors to participants through a variety of drop-in programs, including Fitness, Squash, Table Tennis and more. “At the heart of a citywide try-it sport event is really the Community Sport Hosts,” underlines Ottawa Sport Council Executive Director Frances Mercer. “All the administrators, the coaches and the volunteers, it was their time, their dedication and their commitment that made the event so special.
