2023 Winter Basketball wRAp Up
​The Winter 2023 Basketball season wRApped up on Thursday, May 25th, with the Championship game that featured OG Ballers jump-ballin' against the surprising, 5th-place squad, Hoopwell.

Both teams started off slow, as both good defense and a little bit of tentativeness were in play. Each team took turns missing their first few shots, but that wasn't going to last long with the talent on each squad, and by the end of the first-half, OG had a slim lead.

Hoopwell's Owen Boisvert led all players, scoring 21 points in the game, but, unfortunately for the Hoopwell team, there wasn't enough supporting scoring.

On the other side of the court, the OG Ballers have to be commended for playing strong defense, while also spreading the scoring around. Team captain, Iman Abdorbo, who has been a calm, settling influence all season, was once again a force with his ability to dictate the pace of the game, and, with all the other guys doing their part, the OG Ballers couldn't be beat.

However, as in all games, especially a Championship match where the eventual win was very much a collective team success, there is usually a player who emerges as am MVP and OG's HFX's Cody was that player. Cody's 3-pointer later in the game seemed to take the wind out of a battling Hoopwell's sails, and he followed it up with a few minutes of on-floor dominance that effectively sealed the Ballers' championship. 

Congratulations to the Champions, OG Ballers, and three cheers to the Hoopwell team who played well and kept the game close until the end.

The League Management reserves the right, if we deem it reasonable or necessary to attain fair play and/or in the best interests of the League, to:
  • assess players/goalies/teams 
  • assign players/goalies to teams formulated by the League from the individuals registrants
  • move players/goalies from team to team formulated by the League from the individuals registrants 
  • move teams up/down divisional levels
Additionally, the League Management reserves the right to forego assessments of  players/goalies/teams.
