Experience the RA Gun ClubThe RA Gun Club (RAGC) offers men and women a friendly and safe venue for both recreational and competitive shooting sports. Operating out of the only indoor range in Ottawa, the RAGC provides rifle and pistol shooters the opportunity to practice a variety of different disciplines, including a number of popular Olympic shooting events.
The Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) are offered monthly at the RA Centre, for those needing to obtain their Firearms License. Click here for more information and class schedule. Do you need to own a firearm to join the RA Gun Club? You do not need to own a firearm to join the RA Gun Club. The club owns a variety of firearms that are available for member use under club supervision, at no extra charge. Our inventory includes a number of .22 LR single shot target rifles, as well as air rifles, and a variety of .22 LR and centerfire pistols and revolvers. Eye and ear protection is available and mandatory. Club members are required to purchase targets and ammunition, with both being available in the range. Do I need my PAL to join the RA Gun Club? You do not need to have your PAL to join the Gun club though you are required to receive it or start the process of receiving it within the first three months of your membership. Members who only participate in air rifle and/or air pistol shooting disciplines and have no need to use club firearms, are exempt from PAL requirement, but must still register for and complete the respective internal club safety course(s). Designed by women members of the RAGC, the event will consist of firearm safety training and a live fire exercise with personalized one-on-one mentoring by RAGC, Range Officers that have been certified by the Canadian Shooting Sports Association. Please note that you must complete and submit a gun club application form before purchasing your Gun Club Membership. You can download your application form below or receive one at the RA Centre. Membership is open to everyone. When you join an RA Club you are joining our not-for-profit Association. Active Club Members enjoy the benefits and privileges of an Association Membership for the duration of their Club membership. 2. Complete Your Application
Submit a Gun Club Application Form Click here to download the Application Form or complete one at RA Centre when you register and then you can purchase your Gun Club Membership. If you are registering over the phone please complete the application form and scan/email it to Member Services at info@racentre.com. Member Services have been instructed not to register any new members without first receiving the RA Gun Club Application Form. *Members are required to have a PAL within three months of joining the RA Gun Club 3. Register for the safety course(s) for the section(s) you want to participate in through the Member Services desk. Upon completion of course(s) you will receive your Gun Club ID Badge allowing you to access the range shooting times.
*IPSC Only members - A IPSC specific safety course is included in the membership fee and will be arranged through the Range Officer during your first visit. Individuals wishing to join the RA Gun Club are required to take the internal safety course(s) associated with the section they wish to participate in. These safety courses are designed specifically for the RA Gun Club Range and include a two hour classroom section followed by a 45 minute live-fire session. Please bring your own eye and ear protection and dress accordingly. Please do not bring ammunition or firearms to this course. Upon completion of an internal safety course members will receive a Gun Club ID Badge from the section head allowing access to shooting times. Adult Full Membership
Membership provides individuals access to all shooting disciplines offered by the RA Gun Club all year round. Individuals are required to register for all safety courses associated with the section they wish to participate in. Annual: 12 months from date of purchase Fee: $320 Adult IPSC Membership
Membership run from November 1st - April 30th and only provides individuals access to the IPSC section times. IPSC safety course is included in the membership fee and will be organized through the Range Officer during first visit to the range. Please provide your IPSC Ontario or your IPSC Quebec membership # at the time of registration. Full Season: Nov 1 - April 30 Fee: Full Season $180 Junior Membership (12 - 17 years old)
The club welcomes both recreational and competitive Juniors (12 to 17 years old) in its rifle section. Juniors must complete the internal club rifle safety course on a designated Tuesday night prior to their first Sunday visit. The course fee is waived for Junior members, however to ensure there is space available, pre-registration is required. In addition, the Canadian Firearms Safety Course for non-restricted firearms is available to club juniors so they can apply for a minors permit. Junior members can shoot .22 rifle, air rifle or air pistol. If interested in registering for a Canadian Firearms Safety course, please contact the membership desk for dates and fees.
