Judo is a dynamic Japanese martial art that focuses on throws, hold-downs, chokes, and arm-locks — with similarities to wrestling. Developed by Jigoro Kano, Judo was designed not only as a safe and effective form of self-defence, but also as a way to build character, discipline, and community. Today, it is practiced worldwide as both a martial art and an Olympic sport. At the RA Judo Club, we use the sport of Judo to teach practical grappling and combat skills while fostering personal growth and core values, including:
Respect
Mutual Welfare and Benefit
Work Ethic
We are committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming training environment that celebrates equity, diversity, and individual growth. Whether you're here to sharpen your fighting skills, get in shape, build confidence, or develop self-discipline, our club offers a space to challenge yourself — both physically and mentally. No matter your experience level, you’ll find support, community, and purpose on the mats. Come train with us!
Our Judo program offers recreational-level instruction for beginners to black belts. Classes are led by certified black belt instructors who hold National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) credentials, ensuring a safe, supportive, and skill-building environment for all students.
Program Highlights:
Open to all levels — no experience necessary.
Instruction focuses on developing technique, discipline, and fitness.
